Where sunrise meets soul.
Love Dawn was born in the sweetest way, right in the middle of planning a baby shower.
Alanna wanted something beautiful, memorable, and rooted in love, without the waste that usually comes with party favors and decorations. So instead of plastic gifts or throwaway items, she created a moment.
She gathered her friends, the aunties and uncles, around buckets of dye, soft cotton onesies, and Kauaʻi sunshine. Together, they hand-dyed each piece with intention, laughter, and the excitement of welcoming new life. Every swirl of color held a blessing. Every pattern carried a memory.
The onesies came out so beautiful, so unique, and so full of love that they became the heart of the entire celebration. And when her baby wore them afterward, infused with joy, community, and care, something clicked.
This was more than a baby shower idea. This was a way to celebrate life, honor the earth, and create keepsakes that actually mean something.
What Love Dawn Is Now
From that first moment, Love Dawn has grown into a small-batch, hand-dyed clothing line made on Kauaʻi. Mothers and keiki are at the heart of everything we make, from onesies and baby sets to matching family pieces. But the line has expanded to include adult tees, dresses, sarongs, bags, and our Remix Program, where pre-loved clothing gets transformed into something new.
The name “Love Dawn” carries layers. It weaves together Alanna’s middle name (Dawn), her late grandmother’s name Sinamar (meaning shining light in Ilocano), her daughter’s middle name, and her creative collaborator Love Browne’s name. Dawn also speaks to new beginnings, the brand started with pieces made for babies, and every dawn is a fresh start.
And there’s another meaning built right into the name: Love Dawn sounds like “loved on.” That’s intentional. Every piece is loved on by Alanna as it’s made. And the hope is that when you wear it, you feel that, like you’ve been loved on too.
The Promise
Hand-dyed. Heart-made. Earth-conscious.
Every piece today is still made with the same intention as those first onesies: creating something worth keeping, something that carries love forward.
The People
Alanna | Founder
Alanna is the creative force and hands behind Love Dawn. What started as a way to celebrate her daughter’s arrival became a daily practice of turning simple fabric into living art on her backyard on Kauaʻi. She hand-dyes every piece using the ice dye technique, working with natural fibers and the island’s light to create one-of-one garments you can feel the care in.
